Artist's Bio
Valerie Guth Boyd grew up in Missoula, Montana where she draws creative inspiration from the mountains, rivers, and being in nature. Before moving to Dallas in 2013, Valerie lived in Oakland, California; Tübingen, Germany; Atlanta, Georgia; Avon, Connecticut; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Minneapolis, Minnesota; to highlight some of the far-flung locations.
In Dallas, Valerie immerses herself in the rich cultural offerings in the Dallas Metroplex. She participates in various live model studios and attends art workshops. She loves to explore museums, galleries, and art happenings around the metroplex and leads a Museum Group who join her in this pursuit.
The summers draw Valerie back annually to Montana, where she paints, hikes, and immerses herself in the natural grandeur accompanied by her husband, two adult children, and three loyal side-kick dogs. These months provide a wellspring of inspiration and a chance to reconnect with the land that continually fuels her work.
